WESTERVILLE, OHIO – Three members of the Otterbein University men’s tennis team were named to the 2012 All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) teams, the league office announced Tuesday.
Sophomore Ryan Shutt (Coshocton/Coshocton) was named to the second-team, while senior Steven Albert (Findlay/Findlay) and freshman Kendall Coffman (Marengo/Buckeye) earned honorable mention.
Shutt, who was also a one-time OAC Player-of-the-Week, posted a 6-2 conference mark at second and third singles and finished the season 11-8 overall. He also went 7-1 in league doubles matches, playing mostly with freshman Tyler Gibbons.
Albert played at second singles all season and finished with a 4-3 conference record, 5-6 overall. While playing at both first and second doubles he posted an 11-4 mark including a 6-1 record against OAC opponents.
Coffman finished the season 7-2 against league opponents while playing at both third and fourth singles. He paired with Albert to go 6-1 at second doubles in the OAC, and finished the season 12-7 overall in doubles competition.
The Cardinals recently finished a successful 2011-12 season that included a trip to the OAC Tournament semifinals. Otterbein completed their campaign with a 7-2 conference mark, and a 10-11 overall record.
