AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Otterbein University freshman Will Willson has been chosen as the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Player of the Week in men’s tennis for the second time this season, the league announced Monday afternoon. He also earned the honor back on March 26.

Willson (Commerce Township/Detroit Catholic Central)  helped the Cardinals improve to 10-5 this past week with victories over Wilmington College, 9-0, and John Carroll University, 7-2.

Willson was a perfect 4-0 on the week in winning both singles and both doubles matches. He swept first singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win against Wilmington while teaming with David Seckel for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

He finished off the week with a comeback win against Ryan Mullaney of John Carroll, rebounding from a first-set loss to take the next two sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. He and Seckel also earned their second doubles win of the week.

The Cardinals will return to action Tuesday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. match at Marietta College.
