WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the first annual Fall Sports Spaghetti dinner Tuesday evening, held in the Otterbein Clements Recreation Center.
The athletic staff and all traditional fall sports athletes gathered for the event, which featured dinner, trivia challenges, and a variety of “Minute to Win It” games. Athletes, coaches, and staff competed with and against one another in several unique competitions.
“It was a great idea by athletic director Dawn Stewart, and I think the athletes were excited about having something new and different,” SAAC President Dominic Porretta said. “There seemed to be a lot of positive feedback from both athletes and coaches alike.”
“Dawn asked SAAC to supply the programming, and that really allowed our student-athletes to be the ones behind the activities,” Poretta continued. “As a result, we’ll be able to continually improve the event and start a new tradition for Otterbein athletics.”
SAAC plans to host a similar event for traditional winter and spring sports as the athletic calendar progresses.
