Otterbein University Athletics

Clements Recreation Center

Built in 2002, this $9.5 million facility enhances the curriculum and clinical experiences for students preparing for careers in health, fitness and athletic training. The space includes a 70,000 square-foot fieldhouse holding a 6-lane 200m indoor track, four batting cages, dropdown basketball hoops and four courts capable of hosting many events. The center is home to a fitness facility as well as athletic department offices. In May of 2026, the fieldhouse was professionally cleaned and new track lines were pained, giving the space a refreshed feel.

In addition to track and field meets, the space is used for varsity tennis competition and by multiple other programs during the winter months. It connects to the Rike Center and has also served as a backup venue for commencement. | Guest Pass Policy (effective Dec. 2025)

In 2013, The Hall of Champions was unveiled with wall graphics and TV screens displaying the digital history of Otterbein Athletics. Larger and newer TVs took the place of the previous ones in 2023 with frames designed by The Point on campus.

Most of the athletic department staff occupies the second floor of the building, complete with more offices, bleachers that overlook the indoor fieldhouse, a classroom and full lounge area.
