WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Four Otterbein University athletics alumni returned to campus Thursday, Oct. 3 to participate in the department's third Alumni Networking Panel.
The event, hosted collaboratively by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Alumni Relations and the Center for Career and Professional Development, brought back successful alumni in the healthcare field to assist current student-athletes within a similar major.
Attending students were able to ask questions seeking advice regarding the transition into the profession, interviewing tips and balancing a work load with other responsibilities.
Returning alumni included: Samie Corbin '12, three-time national track and field qualifier who now works in the intensive care unit at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Dave Dziedzicki '10, three-year starting goalkeeper and current head athletic trainer at Worthington Kilbourne High School, Jeff Hooper '95, a four-year football letterman and Regional Vice President/General Manager of MobilexUSA, the largest bedside provider of diagnostics in the United States, and Lindsey Russell '12, former All-American and Academic All-America pick in volleyball who is currently in her second year of Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Ohio University.
"We were proud to host four accomplished alumni who provided not only career-specific advice, but professional insight that anyone could benefit from," Director of Athletics Dawn Stewart said. "It is so beneficial for our student athletes to see such successful role models and it was a really great experience for everyone involved."
