SAAC Hosts Second-Annual Fall Sports Dinner

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the second-annual Fall Sports Pasta dinner Tuesday evening, held in the Otterbein Clements Recreation Center.

The athletic staff and all traditional fall-sport athletes gathered for the event, which featured dinner served by the athletic staff, trivia challenges, and a variety of "Minute to Win It" games. Athletes, coaches, and staff competed with and against one another in several unique competitions.

Before concluding, each sport program had one player representative come take the microphone and answer a quick season preview question about their respective team.

"I thought the night really came together well," SAAC President Liz Palmer said. "Everyone seemed to be engaged and it was a good chance for not just the student-athletes to socialize with one another, but also for the staff and players to have some fun off the field this preseason."

Palmer, head volleyball coach and SAAC adviser Monica McDonald, and the rest of the volleyball players spearheaded the planning and setup of the event.

"I was so pleased with our team's effort and the contributions of the entire athletic staff," McDonald said. "It was great to see the kids joking and laughing with one another. I think we've definitely started a great tradition here at Otterbein."

SAAC plans to host a similar event for traditional winter and spring sports as the athletic calendar progresses.
