Follow the Progress of the Track and Turf Project

WESTERVILLE, Ohio--Follow the progress of the Memorial Stadium track and turf installation this summer at stadium.otterbein.edu.

Otterbein broke ground on the $2.1 million project, which features a new track and new playing surface in Memorial Stadium, May 6. Construction is expected to be completed by fall.

Otterbein is using three Ohio-based companies for the project: MSA Architects, with offices in Columbus and Cincinnati; The Motz Group, from Cincinnati; and Heiberger Paving, located in Canal Winchester.

The Motz Group will be installing a state-of-the-art Crossflex HP synthetic surface, which will replace the natural grass surface now in use.

"We will be the first institution in the area to install the Crossflex HP turf," said Dawn Stewart, director of athletics. "It's a hybrid system that is conducive to soccer as well as sports like football and lacrosse. Heiberger will be installing a 13-millimeter sandwich track system, which is great for training and competition."
