HUDSON, Ohio - The Otterbein University men's golf team captured its sixth-consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular-season championship on Tuesday after finishing second at the OAC Spring Invitational hosted by John Carroll University at the Country Club of Hudson.
The event was originally scheduled for last weekend but was postponed due to inclement weather. Otterbein claimed the regular-season title after totaling the best scores over three rounds of play at the OAC fall and spring tournaments.
The Cardinals shot a 308 as a team to place first at the fall invite and then posted a 450 (301-149), four strokes behind clubhouse leader Ohio Northern, over 27 holes this afternoon.
JCU and Capital shared third-place after finishing 10 strokes behind the Cards. Mount Union's Buster Thomas earned top-medalist honors after firing a 106 (68-38) to lead the 48-player field.Â
"It was nice to finally get out and play in good weather conditions," said head coach
Brian Booher. "We all felt it was a great tune-up for the OAC Championships."Â
Otterbein placed five of its competitors in the top-10 with senior
