Men's Golf Leads Field Through Two Rounds at OAC's


First/Second Round Results

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's golf team is leading the field of eight teams by 10 strokes through two rounds at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships, hosted by Muskingum University at River Greens Golf Course.

The Cardinals, in search of their third-straight OAC Tournament title, led second-place Ohio Northern by 10 strokes after one round of play as senior Kris Clarke and freshman Kurt Fortman tied for an individual-low round of 70.

Otterbein maintained its 10-stroke advantage after day two despite ONU matching the Cards' team score of 299. Junior Austin Wells paced the team with a 74 in round two, moving him into a tie for sixth-place overall.

Clarke, the team's overall leader, now sits in a tie for second-place out of 40 golfers after shooting a 75 on day two, while Fortman trails by just one stroke in fifth-place after posting a 76.

Junior Tyler Elgin is currently in eighth-place with a two-round total of 148 (73-75) to make it four Cards inside top-10. Freshman Spencer Jordan checks in with a two-day score of 152 (77-75).

The final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. with tee times based off the current team standings.
