Strimbu, a sophomore from Avon Lake, turned in an impressive week to help the women's soccer team get back on track with a pair of victories. Strimbu tallied game-winning goals in each of the Cardinal outings, the first coming on a free kick from 25 yards just seven minutes into a 3-0 win at Ohio Wesleyan. She later assisted on the third goal of the match as well.
Jillian finished out the week with the difference-making score in a 1-0 home win over Manchester on Saturday. With the game scoreless in the 38th minute, Strimbu roped a shot from 35 yards out that sailed over the outsretched arms of the Manchster keeper and into the net. The Cardinals remained in control throughout the rest of the match for the win. As a result of her pay, Strimbu was named the Ohio Athletic Conference "Player of the Week."
Women's soccer hits the road for a pair of matches this week, traveling to Kenyon on Wednesday and Hiram come Sunday.
