Carpenter, a 5'8" senior wide receiver from Dublin (Coffman), hauled in nine passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns to help the football team defeat crosstown-rival Capital, 19-14, over the weekend.
The Crusaders scored to open the game, but Otterbein quickly responded as Carpenter caught a 21-yard touchdown to tie the game with 9:39 to play in the first. He tallied his second score of the day midway through the second quarter, bringing down a 24-yard touchdown to help give the Cards a 13-7 lead. Otterbein never trailed the rest of the day.
Carpenter is currently leading the team in receiving for a second-straight season, having posted 43 catches for 567 yards and six touchdowns so far this fall. Otterbein will host Marietta this week as part of Senior Day.
