Monaco, a sophomore from Westerville North, won the first tournament of his young career over the weekend by capturing medalist honors at the Muskingum Invitational. His efforts helped Otterbein run away from the competition and win by a commanding 36 strokes.

Monaco started with a bang Friday afternoon, firing a thre-under par 67 in the first round to jump ahead and never look back. He finished the job Saturday with a round of 72 that saw low temperatures and rain/sleet throughout. As a result of his play, he was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.

The Cardinals are set to return to action this coming weekend at the Ohio Wesleyan Strimer Invitational.
