A senior outfielder, Basford experienced another record-breaking week for the softball team by becoming the program's all-time hits leader. She went 12 for 21 (.571) at the plate over six games, scoring eight runs and delivering six RBI.
Basford tallied the record-breaking hit in the final inning of a comeback win over Kenyon, laying down a bunt-single that helped continue the teams' late rally. She followed with a 3 for 4 performance in the second game against Kenyton, blasting a grand slam over the right-field fence.
Basford, who had five multi-hit games on the week and successfully stole three bases, was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference 'Hitter of the Week' as a result of her efforts.
