Simmerman, a senior first baseman from Westerville Central, had a great week at the plate as the baseball team finished off its Florida Trip with an impressive 9-1 record.
Simmerman was dynamic offensively, going 8 for 16 at the plate, driving in 13 runs and scoring 12 himself over the Cardinals' final six games. He ripped off one double, one triple and three home runs while being walked a staggering nine times. He launched two home runs in game one of a doubleheader against Eastern Nazarene, only to be walked three times (two intentional) in the second affair.
He currently has an on-base percentage of .609 and is slugging over 1.000 on the young season.
