Owens, a freshman from Yorkville, Ill., turned in an impressive week as the softball team played to a 3-1 record within conference play.
Owens earned the win at pitcher during all three of the Cradinal wins, starting with a complete-game effort at Capital on Monday. She allowed just two earned runs over seven innings and also drove in a run at the plate.
Her best day came in a doubleheader sweep of Marietta, which began with another complete-game win in the circle after she surrendered just one run and five hits over the full seven frames.
She had an all-around performance in game two, going 2 for 3 at the plate with three RBI, and entering the game at pitcher midway through to pick up the win. She allowed just two runs over the final 3.2 innings en route to her sixth win of the year.
She was named the Ohio Athletic Conference 'Pitcher of the Week' as a result of her efforts.
