A 6'5" first baseman, Simmerman turned in an incredibly efficient week at the plate to help Otterbein play to a perfect 5-0 record, including four-straight conference wins.
Simmerman went 14 of 25 offensively, driving in nine runs and scoring another 11 himself. He began the week by going 8 for 10 in a home doubleheader with Wilmington, including a 5 for 5 outing in game two.
He ended the week in fine fashion, launching his sixth home run of the season, in the top of the 13th inning, to help the team ultimately escape with a 12-10 win at Muskingum to keep pace in a tight OAC race.
As a result of his hitting display, he was voted as the Ohio Athletic Conference 'Hitter of the Week.'
