Bruner gave a strong performance at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, winning a pair of events to go along with two fourth-place finishes.

Bruner captured the 100-meter title in a time of 10.92 and ran the second leg of the winning 4x100 relay squad, which set a new-school record by going 41.46 seconds. He just missed All-OAC honors in the 200 meters and triple jump, placing fourth in both.
