Owens, a sophomore from Yorkville, Ill., turned in another incredible week to help the softball team remain perfect within conference play.
Otterbein went 8-0 as a team and improved to 25-3-2 overall (12-0 in OAC) behind a 4-0 record from Owens at pitcher. She tossed 29 innings, allowing just two earned runs and three walks en route to four complete-games. She also picked up a save at Marietta.
Owens was also instrumental at the plate, hitting .321 while ripping off nine RBI and scoring six runs herself. She had two doubles and came up with perhaps the biggest play all season by launching a two-out, walk-off, three-run homer to beat cross-town rival Capital 9-7 and complete a doubleheader sweep.
