Kovach, a freshman from Wyoming, Ohio, contibuted a multi-goal effort over the weekend to help men's soccer pick up its first win of the young season.
Kovach scored twice in a 3-0 win at La Roche, beginning with a score just 35 seconds into the second half after the contest was locked in a stalemate at intermission. He made sure there would be little doubt in the outcome with an insurance goal in the 57th minute, taking a pass to quickly find the back of the net.
Kovach and the Cardinals will be back in action with three matches this week, the latter two coming at home on Friday and Sunday.
