Birrer, a junior outfielder from Cincinnati Moeller, hit a blazing .692 at the plate last week to help the baseball team go 4-0 and clinch a spot in the upcoming OAC Tournament.

Birrer was 9 for 13 at the dish, tallying seven RBI, scoring five runs and launching a difference-making two-run homer at No. 5-ranked Wooster. The Cards swept the Fighting Scots and then flew past Muskingum, where Birrer went 3 for 5 with four RBI in the postseason-clinching game.

He and the Cards will be the No. 3 seed in the league's postseason event.
