Gardner, a sophomore from Baltimore (Liberty Union), led the men's cross country squad with a 19th-place finish in the Inter-Regional Border Battle at Rowan over the weekend. Overall, 250 total runners took part.

Gardner's time of 25:21.8 was a season-best result, which helped Otterbein finish sixth in the 28-team field. All five teams ahead were nationally-ranked.
