Bedell, a junior from Bellevue, opened her indoor track and field season by winning the 800-meter run at Tiffin's Alumni Open.

A reigning All-American as part of the women's distance-medley relay, Bedell covered the track in 2:23.99 to win by more than eight seconds against a field consisting mostly of Division II runners.

Her time was just over one second away from cracking into Otterbein's top-10 list in the event.
