Kantor, a freshman from Columbus (Whitehall), opened his 2018 indoor season by winning the weight throw at the Otterbein Invitational. He registered a toss of 41-8 3/4 (12.72m), good enough to rank fourth-best in program history.

Kantor bested a second-place Capital thrower by more than two feet and a third-place competitor from Shawnee State by over four.
