Gernert, a sophomore from Bucyrus, finished second in both the long jump and triple jump at the Marv Frye Invitational this past weekend at Ohio Wesleyan. She finished runner-up among 30 competitors in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet 2 1/4 inches, and second of 18 with a distance of 34 feet 5 3/4 inches in the triple jump. Her mark in the triple jump was a personal best.
