Rike Center

Built in 1974, the Rike Center houses multiple athletic facilities in addition to other notable areas. The venue has played host to NCAA runs for men’s basketball (including a 2002 national championship season), multiple conference titles in volleyball , the resurrection of men’s wrestling and home to the first-ever women's collegiate wrestling event in central Ohio. The gym floor was redone prior to the 2024-25 season, with new bleachers installed in 2026. A newly renovated weight room is also housed inside the Rike Center, in a connection with Rogue Fitness in the summer of 2026. The building is also home to the wrestling room, the golf putting and swing labs, as well as athletic offices and classrooms. | Guest pass policy (effective Dec. 2025)

Conventional classrooms and academic/meeting spaces are located throughout, used by various programs in addition to the Department of Health and Sports Sciences. A weight room, dance room and multiple locker rooms for varsity teams are located across the first floor, while offices for athletic staff and administrators are scattered throughout.

The Rike Family of Dayton inaugurated the capital campaign to finance construction back in the 70’s and the facility has received modifications over 50 years since. A pair of floating hardwood courts, secured through a gift-in-kind by former NBA coach George Karl, were added to the back in 2014-15. Shortly thereafter, racquetball courts were removed (and repurposed) to create a brand-new wrestling practice space when Otterbein added the varsity sport in 2015.
