OCWS Celebrates Seniors With 6-0 Victory Over Muskingum

WESTERVILLE, Ohio- Women's soccer celebrated senior night inside a rainy Memorial Stadium Saturday night, sending its seniors off with a 6-0 victory over Muskingum. The win puts nationally ranked No. 17 Otterbein at 14-1-1 and 7-0 in OAC action. The loss drops Muskingum to 6-11 and 1-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Emily Ganz put the Cardinals on the scoreboard first when she tip-toed the end line and buried a shot just 4 minutes into the game.
     
  • Bella Shivley became the programs all-time leader in goals scored at 6:37 scoring on an arhcing shot from the 15-yard line, set up by Delaney Earl.
     
  • The Cards carried the 2-0 lead into the break with the Muskingum defense using the park the bus tactic defensively to hold Otterbein at bay.
     
  • Otterbein held a 9-1 shot advantage at the break.
     
  • Shivley opened up the second half with her 21st goal of the season, adding to her already impressive Junior campaign.
     
  • Senior Annie Mosca was next to score for the Cardinals, burying a header on yet another assist from Earl.
     
  • After checking into the match and hearing the announcement of $1 concession stand items Mackenzie Peeke scored on a header of her own from a corner ball played in by Earl once again.
     
  • Senior Katie Exline fittingly wrapped up the scoring barrage for Otterbein scoring an unassisted goal at 86:17 after dancing and weaving her way through the Muskie defense.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Otterbein finished the match holding a 24-1 shot advantage.
     
  • The Cardinals winning streak now stretches to 10 games, with Otterbein outscoring opponents 41-6.

UP NEXT:
  • Otterbein will host No. 21 Ohio Northern on Wednesday night with first place in the OAC on the line, game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
