NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Otterbein women's lacrosse team got itself back to even in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) on Saturday afternoon, leaving Muskingum with a decisive 21-3 triumph.

The Cardinals now stand 6-9 overall and 3-3 in league play, while the host Muskies drop to 1-13 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Otterbein opened the game on a 4-0 run before Muskingum scored, but countered with more goals to balloon the lead to double digits with 5:15 to go before halftime.

  • The Muskies scored twice before the half and Otterbein led 12-3 at the break.

  • Otterbein held its opposition scoreless throughout the entire second half, netting a score from Abby Smoot just 32 seconds in and slowly pulling away.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Otterbein tallied five man-up goals throughout the second half as Muskingum played short-handed during spurts.

  • Six Cardinals had multi-goal games, led by four from Smoot and Kiera Mulcahy along with a Julias Karas hat trick. Karas also won a season-high 10 draws.
