Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 18 John Carroll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Women's lacrosse knew they had their hands full Saturday afternoon, welcoming No. 18 John Carroll to town in the second game of the Otterbein lacrosse doubleheader.

It was the Blue Streaks who won convincingly, 20-2, to improve to 11-0 on the season while the Cardinals fall for just the fourth time this season and now sit at 7-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • JCU scored early and often, notching three unanswered goals in the first seven minutes of action.

  • Macey Buchanan got Otterbein on the board with her 29th goal of the season at 22:53 with Emily Willms picking up the helper.

  • The Blue Streaks ripped off nine straight goals to close the first half, taking a 12-1 advantage into the break.

  • JCU scored four more times to open the second before the duo of Buchanan and Willms tallied the Cards second score of the day, this time with roles reversed.

  • The nationally ranked visitors closed the game with a four-goal run to seal the deal and stay perfect on the season.

  • Leah McNutt made six saves in net for the Cardinals.
LOOKING AHEAD:

Otterbein will return to action on April 10, traveling to crosstown rival Capital for a 1 p.m. start time.
