BEREA, Ohio – The Otterbein women's lacrosse team continued a high-scoring theme against Baldwin Wallace as league play marched on Saturday afternoon, pulling away for a 16-10 decision inside George Finnie Stadium.

The game, delayed an hour due to lightning and weather in the area, saw the Cardinals (5-4) post 15+ goals on the Yellow Jackets for a fourth time in the last five matchups. Otterbein also secures its first OAC win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• It took a little while for Otterbein to get going, as BW opened strong to build a 7-3 lead midway through the second quarter.
   
• The Cardinals eventually kicked into gear with a huge close before halftime, flying into the locker room after scoring five times in a span of just over two minutes. That outburst flipped Otterbein from a deficit into an 8-7 lead.
   
• Both teams traded goals across a tight third frame. BW's Deanna Loukas thought she might have provided an exclamation mark to end the period by netting a goal with just 25 seconds left, but Emily Willms answered 14 seconds later to get the final laugh of the third…
   
• That momentum trickled over into the fourth, where Otterbein broke open the game with four goals down the stretch to escape with a road win.

 
BOX SCORE NOTABLES:

• The senior duo of Willms and Lauren Newkirk combined for 11 goals and 13 draw controls.
   
• Logan Fox added a hat trick for Otterbein, which held a slight 20-18 edge in shots on goals.
   
• The Cards won 20 of 30 draws in total.
   
• Otterbein was a perfect 6 for 6 on the free-position attempt.
   
• Jenna Pezzot matched Willms for a team-high three caused turnovers defensively, where goalie Maggie Nance also made eight stops in the cage.
