Women's Soccer plays to 1-1 draw with Baldwin Wallace

WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Ohio Athletic Conference foe Baldwin Wallace on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Keaton Aspacher scored the Cardinals' lone goal of the game.

The Game
  • Baldwin Wallace got on the scoreboard first, as a shot from Sydni Mudge off of a corner kick assist from Ella James deflected off an Otterbein player and into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute.
  • The Cardinals answered in the 27th minute when Aspacher worked free for a shot that got past the Baldwin Wallace goalkeeper to tie the score at 1-1.
  • The teams entered halftime still tied. Otterbein held a 12-5 edge in shots, including 5-2 in shots on goal, and a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Neither team was able to break through on the scoreboard in the second half. Otterbein senior Bailey Zanella had a shot attempt that sailed right of the goal off of a corner kick in the 88th minute that represented the last solid attempt for either team.
