ADRIAN, Mich. — The Otterbein women's wrestling team competed at the Adrian Invitational, finishing 26th out of 31 teams and securing several notable wins in the consolation rounds.

Otterbein Individual Results by Weight Class

103: Freshman Kellie Kennedy (2-4) faced Madison Avila from North Central College, losing by fall in 1:16. Moving to the consolation rounds, Kellie received a bye in the first round, advancing automatically. In the second consolation round, she wrestled Jeulenea Khang from West Liberty University (3-3), who won by technical fall with a score of 10-0 at 5:38. 

117: Freshman Hailey Hatfield (1-2) faced Aubrey Filsinger from the University of Mount Union, who won by technical fall with a score of 14-4 at 2:22. Hailey then moved to the consolation rounds with a bye in the first round. In the second round, she secured a victory by technical fall over Nadia Thomas from North Central College, scoring 16-6 at 3:13. In the third round, however, Samantha Yap from Sacred Heart University won by technical fall with a 10-0 score at 2:02. 

117: Freshman Emmy Caton (4-4) began her tournament with a bye in the first championship round. In the second round, she delivered a win with a fall over Madison Stirrett from Rochester University in 3:57. However, in the quarterfinals, Linnea Britton (unattached) claimed victory by fall at the 5:00 mark. Emmy continued to the consolation rounds, where Miriam Hopson from Grand Valley State University won by fall at 1:08.

124:  Freshman Madison Sheehan (0-4) began her tournament with a bye in the first championship round. In the second round, she faced Kira Bufford from Schreiner University, who won by fall in just 0:28. Moving to the consolation rounds, Madison received another bye in the second round, advancing automatically. In the third consolation round, she met Leann Tran from Lourdes University, who also won by fall in 0:28. 

138: Freshman Izzy Samczuk (1-4) faced Taya Stanford from Carthage College and was defeated by fall at 4:30. Moving to the consolation rounds, she bounced back with a victory, winning by fall over Virginia Chapates from Alma College in just 1:39. In the next round, however, Izzy faced Kayla Zeppetelli from New Jersey City University, who won by fall at the 1:39 mark. 

207: Sophomore Marvet Hejazin (1-4)  began her tournament with a bye in the first round. In the second round, she competed against Ella Andrew from Brock University, who won by fall at 1:27. Moving to the consolation rounds, Marvet received another bye in the second round. In her third-round matchup, she faced Ozioma Ogu from Northern Michigan University, putting up a solid fight before narrowly losing by decision, 5-3.
