WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein women's soccer team secured its fourth shutout of the season on Saturday in a scoreless draw with Case Western Reserve to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Basics

The Game

• The Spartans fired eight shots to the Cardinals' three in the first half, and neither team was able to find the back of the net.
• The defensive battle continued in the second half despite CWRU notching 15 shots. Only four of those were on target, and Otterbein junior goalkeeper Ella Schwertfager recorded a save on each one.
• With time winding down, Otterbein senior Lindsey Whitmore had a nice run that resulted in a quality shot in the 89th minute, but CWRU goalkeeper Maggie Storti was able to keep it from finding the back of the net.
• Senior Lauren Alley also got off a late shot, with just 13 seconds remaining, but was denied by Storti.
• Schwertfager played all 90 minutes and recorded seven saves in the game.
• The Spartans finished with a 23-5 edge in shots but a slimmer 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. CWRU also finished with a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
