Football sets season-bests against Wilmington

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Despite outscoring Wilmington College 34-20 in the second half, Otterbein fell 54-41 on Hall of Fame Day.

The Cardinals' rushing attack was the highlight of the game, totaling more than 300 yards. Rocco DeLorenzo and Matt Griffin each surpassed the 100-yard mark, while freshman quarterback Duke Corley added two rushing touchdowns.

Four different receivers found the end zone in Tyler Harrington, Grant Hartley, Christian Pataky and former quarterback turned wide receiver Braydon Bayles. The scores from Harrington, Hartley and Pataky marked the first touchdowns of their collegiate careers.

Defensively, Damar Anderson led the Cardinals with eight tackles, followed by Zach Nelson with seven. Nelson also forced a fumble in the fourth quarter that set up a touchdown. Eliyah Mason added his second interception of the season to cap off the defensive effort.

Otterbein will travel to Bexley next week to battle Capital University (2-4) for the coveted Oar. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
