Women's Lacrosse falls at Marietta to close 2025 season

MARIETTA — The Otterbein women's lacrosse team fell 17-6 at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta on Wednesday night to close out its 2025 regular-season schedule. The Cardinals finished in a three-way tie with Muskingum and Marietta for sixth place in the OAC standings.

Otterbein Stat Leaders
  • Sophomore Alyssa Glenn led the Otterbein offense with four points on three goals and one assist.
  • Junior Ava Robey scored three goals.
  • Senior Abby Chappell tallied one assist.
  • Senior Maggie Nance played 54 minutes in goal and recorded 15 saves.
Game Highlights
  • First Quarter: The first quarter ended in a 1-1 tie. Robey opened the scoring with a goal assisted by Chappell with 12:23 left, and Marietta answered with a goal with 6:08 remaining.
  • Second Quarter: The Pioneers outscored the Cardinals 5-0 in the second quarter to take a 6-1 halftime lead.
  • Third Quarter: Marietta opened the scoring in the third quarter, but Otterbein responded with two consecutive goals from Robey and Glenn. The Pioneers outscored the Cardinals 3-1 over the final 8:44 of the period to take a 10-4 edge into the fourth. Robey scored Otterbein's goal in that closing stretch, getting an assist from Glenn.
  • Fourth Quarter: The Pioneers outscored the Cardinals 7-2 over the final 15 minutes en route to the win. Glenn scored both of Otterbein's goals in the quarter, going back to back with 10:05 and 5:36 remaining, respectively, making the score 12-6.
  • Key Team Stats: Marietta out-shot Otterbein by a 40-25 margin, and the Pioneers finished with a 41-25 edge in ground balls. Marietta won 16 of the 26 draw controls. Otterbein had 18 turnovers to 21 for Marietta.

  • Robey is the Otterbein women's lacrosse program's all-time leader in assists (104). She has 84 goals and ranks fourth all-time with 188 points in her career.
  • Glenn has 109 career points on 97 goals and 12 assists.
  • Nance is a two-time OAC Goalkeeper of the Year and is Otterbein's all-time career leader in saves (600).
  • Entering Wednesday, Glenn was tied for fourth in the OAC in goals (54) this season, while Robey ranked fourth in assists (36). Robey (65) and Glenn (61) were tied for seventh and tied for ninth, respectively, in the OAC in points, and Nance led the league in saves (134).
  • Head coach Brooke Delara is in her second year at Otterbein and has an all-time record of 12-20 at the helm of the Cardinals.
