UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The No. 3 seed Otterbein women's tennis team came up just short in a 4-3 battle at second-seeded John Carroll in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, wrapping up its 2025 season.

• #1: Graduate student Erin Storrer won 6-0, 6-1 over Maddie Kavenagh.
• #2: Senior Lillia Walter won 6-1, 6-4 over Evelyn Deren.
• #3: Freshman Daniela De Mata fell 4-6, 5-7 to Felicity Kolb. 
• #4: Senior Olivia Eckels fell 6⁴-7⁷, 4-6, 2-6 to Madi Davila.
• #5: Senior Cassady Shough fell 1-6, 4-6 to Emma Smith.
• #6: Sophomore Breanna Ball won 6-1, 6-1 over Caroline Chandler.

Doubles

• #1: Storrer and Eckels fell 6-3 to Kavenagh and Deren. 
• #2: Walter and De Mata were down 5-6 to Kolb and Smith (unfinished). 
• #3: Sophomore Taryn Simmers and Ball fell 5-7 to Chandler and Davila.  

Notables

• Wednesday marked the second meeting between Otterbein and John Carroll in the span of five days. The Cardinals and Blue Streaks played in Westerville on April 26 in what was each team's regular-season finale. The Blue Streaks came away with a 4-3 win.
• Otterbein was seeking its ninth OAC Tournament championship overall and third in the past four seasons.
• Ninth-year head coach Tyler Stephen is 123-38 during his tenure leading the women's tennis team at Otterbein.
• Walter leads the team in overall wins on the season with a 31-21 overall record (14-12 in singles and 17-9 in doubles). Storrer is 27-14 overall (14-5 in singles, 13-9 in doubles).
• Storrer is 154-72 in her Otterbein career (75-33 in singles, 79-39 in doubles).
• Walter is 142-73 in her Otterbein career (66-37 in singles, 76-36 in doubles).
• Eckels is 83-74 in her Otterbein career (39-35 in singles, 44-39 in doubles).
