Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ehrbar scores, women's soccer draws with Owls

WESTERVILLE – Rae Ehrbar scored her OAC-leading sixth goal on Sunday in the Otterbein University women's soccer team's 1-1 draw against Kenyon College.

Otterbein did not get many looks in the first half, but made their chances count in the 20th minute. Keaton Aspacher played a wonderful ball well ahead from Otterbein's back third, giving Ehrbar the opportunity to run. Ehrbar broke through three Kenyon defenders to earn a breakaway. The senior slotted the ball with her left foot into the lower right of the goal, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.

Despite the Owls outshooting the hosts in the period, 5-2, the Cardinals took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the 65th minute, Kenyon got on the board to even the game. A loose ball found the foot of Kenyon's Emily Copeland, who one-timed a shot that went off the crossbar and bounced in. The Owls outshot Otterbein in the game, 13-7, but neither team could pull ahead in the final 25 minutes.

Ella Schwertfager made four saves in goal for the Cardinals. Otterbein moves to 3-4-1 overall.

Otterbein will play its third straight NCAC opponent on Wednesday, hosting Denison University. The non-conference finale is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
