Henry tallies four points in loss to Mount Union

WESTERVILLE – In a battle between two of the top teams in the OAC standings, the Otterbein women's lacrosse team came up short in a 20-9 decision to the University of Mount Union. 

Otterbein held a slim 3-2 lead after the first period, thanks to goals from Madi McIntosh and a pair from Dakota Klein. The Purple Raiders – the preseason favorites in the OAC – rattled off an eight-goal second quarter to build to a 10-5 lead at the half. Alyssa Glenn and Ava Robey added goals in the second quarter for the hosts. 

The Purple Raiders outscored Otterbein 5-0 in the third to inflate the lead and keep the Cardinals at bay. Mount Union controlled the offensive, outshooting the Cardinals 39-22, including a 14-2 margin in the third.

Freshman Leela Henry scored one goal and tallied three assists. Glenn controlled six draws to lead the Cardinals. 

Otterbein will wrap up OAC play on Saturday at Muskingum. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
