GAMBIER, Ohio – The Otterbein women's soccer team battled Kenyon College on Friday, ultimately falling in a close 1-0 fashion to the Owls.
Kenyon struck early in the 21st minute, with Maia Pasco finding the lower left of the net off an assist from Mia Voutsinas. Otterbein responded with three shots on goal, including two from junior
Olivia Brooks, but the Owls' defense held firm to keep the Cardinals off the scoreboard. The Cardinals were unable to find the equalizer, as Kenyon's defense remained strong to secure the 1-0 victory.
While Otterbein's offense registered seven shots throughout the match, the Cardinals were unable to find the back of the net. Senior
Isabella Neal tallied five saves in the Cardinals' effort. The Owls led in corners (6-2) and shots (17-8).
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 3, where they will travel to Alliance, Ohio to take on the Purple Raiders in their first OAC match of the season. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
