Isiah Kent begins his first season as a track and field graduate assistant for Otterbein. Also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, he will be coaching the throwing events for the Cardinals.
Kent comes to Otterbein from the University of Kentucky, where he was a four-year letterman and All-SEC performer in the shotput and discus events. He was an east division regional qualifier in 2013 and 2014 and also cracked the school’s top-10 indoor list for the shot put.
Kent, who was chosen for the SEC Community Service Team in 2014, ultimately graduated with a degree in Education Kinesiology.
A native of Galion, Ohio, Kent was an OHSAA Division III state champion in both the shotput and discuss for Colonel Crawford High School in 2010. Â
He will be working towards his master’s degree in teaching (special education) while at Otterbein.
