Isiah Kent begins his first season as a track and field graduate assistant for Otterbein. Also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, he will be coaching the throwing events for the Cardinals.

Kent comes to Otterbein from the University of Kentucky, where he was a four-year letterman and All-SEC performer in the shotput and discus events. He was an east division regional qualifier in 2013 and 2014 and also cracked the school’s top-10 indoor list for the shot put.

Kent, who was chosen for the SEC Community Service Team in 2014, ultimately graduated with a degree in Education Kinesiology.

A native of Galion, Ohio, Kent was an OHSAA Division III state champion in both the shotput and discuss for Colonel Crawford High School in 2010.

He will be working towards his master’s degree in teaching (special education) while at Otterbein.
