The 2026-27 season will be Kerns's first year on staff for the Cardinals. Receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Rio Grande, she was on a full academic and athletic scholarship during her college years. She graduated in May of 2026 and was named on the Presidents' List and also selected to be a commencement speaker.
During her years at the University of Rio Grande, she served as team captain of the cross country and track teams, achieving a fourth place individual finish at nationals.
Kerns plans to earn her MBA in the spring of 2028.
