The 2026-27 school year wil be Fox's first with the Cardinals. Fox joins Otterbein following a five-year stint as an assistant track and field coach at Division I Southeast Missouri State University, where he mentored 26 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) individual champions. Fox worked with multi, pole vault, hurdle and jumping events with the Redhawks. He oversaw 18 different athletes that qualified for the NCAA First Round in five different events, adding both a Second Team and Honorable Mention Division I All-American finish to his resume.
The Redhawks boasted a four-peat on the women's side, earning OVC titles in both the indoor and outdoor seasons from 2023-26. The men's team won the OVC indoor championship in 2026 and the outdoor titles in 2022, 2023 and 2025 as well, with Fox on staff.
"I'm looking forward to being in a community where the people truly matter, the relationships are genuine, and people will have your back when you need it," said Fox. "Our environment truly dictates the type of success we can have, and I believe Otterbein can supply the right type of environment to grow and develop. Otterbein is fully committed to growth, competition, leadership, and character, with a clear vision to embrace the path toward excellence."
Prior to his time at Southeast Missouri State, Fox spent two seasons at Wittenberg University, staying on as a full-time assistant after completing one year as a graduate assistant. While with Wittenberg, Fox guided eight Tigers to the NCAA Championships, five All-Americans and coached a trio of NCAA Runners-Up in three different events. He started his coaching career as an assistant at Eastern High School in Louisville, coaching the Kentucky state champion and No. 1 nationally ranked pole vaulter during the 2019 season.
Fox competed collegiately at the University of Louisville, earning All-ACC accolades seven times between multis and pole vault. He was the 2018 ACC Champion in the decathlon and was a 2017 NCAA Preliminary Regional qualifier.
Originally from Cambridge, Ohio, Fox resides with his wife, Morgan and one-year old child, Zade.
