Patience Bowman

Patience (Denz) Bowman, a 2006 graduate of Otterbein, has contributed to the coaching staff for multiple seasons over the past decade.

Bowman spent one year as the junior varsity and assistant varsity girls’ soccer coach at Olentangy High School shortly before graduation, and later returned to serve as a graduate assistant at Otterbein in 2006. She then moved on to teach at Olentangy Local Schools the following year.

Bowman moved on to teach at Olentangy Local Schools the following year, starting in Elementary Physical Education for four years until 2011 before transitioning to her current position of Health and Physical Education teacher at Berkshire Middle School.

In addition to her time in the classroom, Bowman worked as the girls’ varsity assistant soccer coach at St. Francis DeSales from 2007-11 and is now the head 7th-grade girls’ basketball coach at Berkshire. She has also spent time coaching club soccer with Classics and Ambassadors.

Bowman was a four-year letterwinner for Otterbein women’s soccer from 2001-04, appearing in 73 matches along the way. She finished her career with six goals and nine assists from her midfielder position.

Patience earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education in 2005 before later receiving a Master’s in Education from Otterbein in June of 2009.

She and her husband, Dan, currently reside locally with their two children; Patience and Richie.
