Chaney joined the Cardinal track and field and cross country programs in the fall of 2025. A native of Long Beach, California, Chaney completed her collegiate career at Division II Tiffin University where she earned her Master of Science in 2025. 

Prior to Tiffin, Chaney competed at the University of Mary (ND), competing in the triple jump, long jump and short hurdles.
