Luke Valdevit joins the Otterbein cross country and track and field coaching staffs for the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach.
Valdevit holds a USTFCCCA Track and Field Technical Certification and comes to Otterbein after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.
During Valdevit's time at ESU, both the men's and women's cross country teams placed fourth at the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) meet. He helped coach one individual NCAA Division II Atlantic Region finisher and one NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships qualifier.
In track and field, he helped coach ESU's student-athletes to six top-10 all-time performances (men's indoor and outdoor 800m, women's indoor 3,000m, women's indoor and outdoor 5,000m and women's 3,000m steeplechase) and four freshman records broken. He also helped oversee eight PSAC scorers at the indoor and outdoor conference meets, including three runner-up finishes (women's indoor 3,000m and 5,000m and women's outdoor 5,000m).
A 2022 graduate of ESU with a bachelor's degree in secondary education, Valdevit went on to earn a master's degree in history from his alma mater.
As a student-athlete at ESU, Valdevit was a six-time All-PSAC finisher (3x DMR, 2x cross country and 1x steeplechase).
