Leilah Castro

Former NAIA standout Leilah Castro will enter her second season as a graduate assistant in the 2025-26 season. She was instrumental in the success of the Cardinals in their first year as a program in 2024-25, seeing four wrestlers go to nationals and Olivia Shore winning the national title at 103.

Castro, a recent star for Campbellsville University in Kentucky, earned her bachelor of science in the fitness/wellness specialist area while excelling on the mat.

As an undergrad, Castro was a critical piece of Campbellsville’s 2021-22 NAIA National Championship team, where she also settled as the national runner-up herself at 123 pounds. Additionally, she part of team and individual championships at the Mid-South Conference Level, along with Academic All-MSC in the classroom.

Prior to college, Castro was a state champion and freestyle national champion for New Lexington High School, while also placing fifth at the World Cadet Championships. She will now be working toward her master’s degree in allied health (exercise science program) at Otterbein.
