Rushton begins her second season with the Cardinals in the 2026-27 school year. Rushton was integral to Otterbein winning its first-ever OAC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament game in 2025-26, serving as a volunteer assistant in that historic season. Working with the post players, she mentored Cameron Sparks to All-OAC, OAC Freshman of the Year, and D3hoops.com Region VII Freshman of the Year honors.Â
Prior to her time at Otterbein, Rushton was the manager of operations at Rush Sports Complex in Celina, directing youth leagues, camps and tournaments. From 2020-22, she served as the assistant coach for the Ohio Northern women's basketball program, coordinating recruiting visits and having a hand in multiple facets of the team. She also brings experience as a high school varsity coach at Celina High School and as the recruiting coordinator at Division II Findlay.Â
Rushton graduated in 2015 from Ohio Northern University where she had a decorated playing career for the Polar Bears. A two-time All-OAC honoree, Rushton graduated as the all-time leader in field goals made (489) and assists (318). She still ranks in the top 10 in seven different categories, including fifth all-time in scoring (1,223 points). Rushton was named to the 2013 D3hoops.com All-America Second Team and All-Region First Team. She later earned her Master's degree from another OAC foe, Heidelberg University in 2016, serving as the team's graduate assistant coach.
