Owens, a sophomore from Yorkville, Ill., contributed nicely both in the circle and at the plate to help the softball team get off to a 6-0 start on its spring-breal trip.

Owens allowed just on earned-run and only five hits over 17 innings at pitcher, including a no-hitter in a five-inning victory against York. She struck out 21 batters over her three appearances and was named OAC Pitcher of the Week.

Her efforts at the plate have also been solid, tallying three multi-hit games and driving in four runs in the middle of the lineup.
