Coons, a senior midfielder, turned in a pair of solid matches to help the men's soccer team win both and improve to 9-2 on the year.
He assisted on the game-winning goal to take down Ohio Northern, sending a perfect cross into the box that was headed in by teammate Erick Juarez-Manning in the 22nd minute. Coons then turned around to register the game-winner in a 4-0 triumph over Muskingum, scoring in the 16th minute and then setting up Kennedy Mensah's goal in the second half.
The Cards, standing a perfect 3-0 in conference play, have won seven-straight matches and will travel to Wilmington and nationally-ranked Heidelberg this week.
