Box Score
WILMINGTON, Ohio – Otterbein University women's basketball came up just short in another road loss Wednesday evening, suffering a hard-fought 63-58 defeat at Wilmington College in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

Both sides started slow offensively, with the host Quakers (12-10, 9-6 OAC) ultimately holding a 14-10 lead midway through the first period.

Wilmington managed to widen the lead to 30-21 by the break, and later extended the margin to 39-26 early in the second half.

Otterbein (7-15, 3-11 OAC) then began to chip away at the deficit, embarking on a 16-5 run over the next seven minutes to get within a bucket, 44-42, with the game clock showing 10:51.

The Cardinals stayed close down the stretch and later saw sophomore Amariah Huck split a pair of free throws with 2:52 remaining, leaving the team one-point shy of the Quakers.

Wilmington would make a layup on the next trip and ultimately hold on for the win.

Junior point guard Chelsea Reed scored 12 points to lead four Cardinals in double figures.

Mary Corbett contributed 11 while Huck and Madi Miller each scored 10. Otterbein led just once in the contest at 4-2.

Wilmington did not have any player reach double figures in scoring, seeing both Haley Howard and Hannah Haeseker score nine a piece.

Both sides combined to shoot just 5 of 32 from three-point range in the contest.

Otterbein finishes the week on the road, traveling across town to play rival Capital University Saturday afternoon as part of a men's and women's doubleheader.
