MATCH RESULTS

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein wrestling team got itself back into the win column Saturday morning with a one-sided victory, taking down Lourdes University by a score of 49-0 inside the Rike Center.

The Cardinals, who also defeated the Gray Wolves earlier this season in a neutral-site dual, improve to 13-6 on the season in head-to-heads and will finish out the regular season next Saturday at the University of Mount Union. Match time is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Lourdes wrestled Otterbein tough in three of the opening four matches, with Jackson Lakso (125), Robe' Harris (141) and Jake Vaughan (149) all earning decisions sandwiched around a first-round pin from 133-pounder Tyler Norris. Vaughan emerged in a hard-fought third period against the top Gray Wolves wrestler, Garrett Carter.

The Cards flew away from there, getting pins from Willy Plaisir, Corbin Bunsold and Gage Archer to go along with technical falls by Braden Neuberger and Drew Kasper. Donny Didion won by forfeit at 165 lbs.

Kasper, ranked No. 10 in the nation at 197 pounds, posted a 17-0 triumph and now stands 24-4 on the season. He will look to finish his Ohio Athletic Conference season undefeated next weekend at Mount Union.

Bunsold, wrestling at 184 pounds, improved his impressive season record to 25-8 and notched his 20th pin at 3:28 of the opening round. Lakso also hit the 20-win mark against Lourdes with his 15-9 victory.
